Seatac, WA Elder/Senior Housing Placement and Referral Agency
Our adult family home elder/senior housing placement and referral agency will help elder/senior find Medicaid and private pay adult family homes. Adult Family Homes (AFH) are residential homes licensed to provide home care for up to six non-related individuals (commonly called “residents”). They provide room, board, laundry, supervision, and necessary help with activities of daily living, personal care, and limited social services. DSHS has used adult family homes for many years as the least restrictive and least expensive place to care for the aging population. Adult family homes also used to care for people with mental health, dementia and developmental disabilities problems.
Seatac adult family homes offer residents a real home setting that is comfortable and secure. The caregivers staff-to-resident ratio is one staff to six residents. Settings can vary from very luxurious million dollar homes with water views, to small run-of-the-mill houses. Homes offer private rooms, rooms with baths, or shared rooms.
Levels of care can vary as long as state requirements are met (WAC 388-76), providers are free to offer as much or as little care as they are capable or qualified to provide. However, adult family homes that are owner-operated by nurses typically are able to provide higher level of care to residents. There are also many ‘average-looking’ homes owned by excellent caregivers who are able to provide higher levels of care. Most adult family homes have one caregiver per shift, the owner being the back up. The caregiver is usually caring for up to six residents. The caregiver is generally responsible for meals as well the caregivers are responsible for keeping the home clean.
Our adult family home elder/senior housing placement and referral agency will help potential residents find Medicaid and private pay home care in Seatac, WA by zip code. Our directory listings have no current enforcement letters on the DSHS web site for abuse or neglect. Our directory listings have a good record for providing quality care and protecting residents rights.
